About Noël López-Freeman, LMFT
I help medical professionals and their partners heal themselves and their marriages, creating more fulfilling, connected lives.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the wife of a physician for almost two decades, I am deeply familiar with the challenges that medical professionals, their partners, and their marriages face - I have lived through them. I provide expert, evidenced-based therapy to motivated individuals and couples ready to live more authentic, fulfilling, and connected lives. I see clients virtually in California, Texas, and Florida for individual therapy, marriage therapy, and marriage therapy intensives.
please Hear me when I say:
I’m glad you are here.
From the outside, your life may look perfect. You may have achieved an enviable level of success. But other’s perceptions of you may be in sharp contrast to the reality of life as a medical professional or the partner of one.
When you set out on your journey to become a physician or other medical professional, this is not what you thought life would be like nor how it would feel.
Whether it’s due to the stress of life in medicine, the demands of being in a medical marriage, communication, intimacy issues, or something much more painful such as an affair, betrayal or addiction, I am here to help you
How I work
At the core of my therapeutic approach is a belief in trauma-informed, evidence-based, integrative treatment.
Very simply, I provide my clients with the same care and expertise I would seek for myself and my marriage. I use an integrative approach because all evidenced-based treatments have their limitations. My experience, flexibility, and depth greatly improve my clients’ outcomes. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2006 and a former therapist and clinical supervisor in inpatient and intensive outpatient settings, I possess a depth of experience and skill not often found in a private practice setting.
Your treatment is customized to you and your goals. Therapy with me is targeted and time-limited.
I use humor and warmth to connect with my clients - there is no judgment here. I enjoy educating my clients about what I see in the therapy room to deepen their understanding and empower them. My goal is to get you to where you want to be as quickly as possible.
Therapy with me is…
-
Personalized therapy ensures that you receive the quality care you deserve and the flexibility to adapt as needed.
-
Our work together is confidential. I understand that many medical professionals are hesitant to seek therapy and I am happy to discuss ahead of time any concerns you may have.
-
Good therapy is time-limited and guided by goals, your goals. We can work together to help you create the life you want.
